According to disclosure by Euromonitor, Brazil is the third largest market for cosmetics in the world, with 8.6% share of the worldwide market for Personal Hygiene, Perfumery and cosmetics (HPPC), behind only the U.S. and Japan that earned in 2009 a total of $ 28.4 billion and in the last six years, the cosmetics industry grew at an average of 13, 5% per year.
According to Abihpec (Association of Brazilian Toiletry, Perfumery and Cosmetics), these numbers represent 10% of the economy sector of the country and some companies believe that for over a decade, the sector is growing at a pace faster than GDP Brazil. From 2007 onwards the cosmetics industry grew 40% and the whole, the sector employs 3.6 million people in the country.
The cosmetics segment also has its particularities and needs a legal basis that is aligned with the laws, as well as the performance of the sector to provide adequate legal support to the needs faced by the industry.
